दहशतवादी कसाबला फाशी

मुंबईवरील दहशतवादी हल्ल्यातील दोषी पाकिस्तानचा क्रुरकर्मा अजमल कसाब याला आज बुधवारी सकाळी साडेसात वाजता पुण्यातील येरवडा कारागृहात फाशी देण्यात आल्याची माहिती, राज्याचे गृहमंत्री आर. आर. पाटील यांनी दिली.  कसाबने दयेचा अर्ज केला होता. मात्र, राष्ट्रपती प्रणव मुखर्जी यांनी कसाबचा दयेचा अर्ज मंगळवारी फेटाळल्याचे वृत्त आज प्रसिद्ध झाले. डॉक्टरांनी कसाबला मृत घोषित करण्यात आले. कसाबला फासावर लटविण्यात आल्यानंतर सुरक्षेचा उपाय म्हणून येरवडा कारागृहाबाहेर पोलिस बंदोबस्तात वाढ करण्यात आली आहे.

कसाबची शेवटी इच्छा काहीच नाही

कसाबला आज सकाळी फार गुप्ततेत फाशी देण्यात आली, असली तरी काही बातम्या आता समोर येत आहे. कसाबला फाशी देताना विचारण्यात आले की, अंतीम इच्छा काय आहे. त्यावर त्याने आपली अंतीम इच्छा काहीच नाही, किंवा आपण काय करू इच्छितो असे त्याने काहीच सांगितले नसल्याचे सूत्रांनी सांगितले.  राष्ट्रपती प्रणव मुखर्जी यांनी कसाबच्या दयेचा अर्ज फेटाळल्यानंतर येरवडा जेल प्रशासनाने योग्य ती कारवाई केल्याचे जेलमधील सूत्रांनी सांगितले.
